A consortium led by Middlesex University, comprising UVAC, Construction Skills, The Lifelong Learning Network National Forum and the Mixed Economy Group of Colleges was successful in its bid to the National Apprenticeship Service Higher Apprenticeship Fund (HAF) for funding to support the implementation and delivery of the Higher Apprenticeship in Construction Operations Management. The Higher Apprenticeship – developed during 2011 – was agreed by Construction Skills’ Standards and Validation Group as SASE compliant and was issued by the Construction Skills Issuing Authority for immediate delivery. More information about the development of the Higher Apprenticeship can be found here.
The HAF funding has enabled the consortium to implement a delivery infrastructure for the Higher Apprenticeship during 2012 and early 2013. The Higher Apprenticeship is being delivered through the establishment of a network Delivery Partnerships designed to meet the specific needs of construction employers. For more information on how a delivery partnership works and how you might work with Middlesex University to deliver the HA in Construction Operations Management, please contact Darryll Bravenboer.
The podcast below provides some high level information about the project. More details – briefings, illustrative course structure and FAQs are available from the Middlesex University website.
