About the event
Planet Edu are working on a diploma to allow overseas students access to year 2 of UK undergraduate programmes and are in discussions with a number of individual HEIs who understandably are keen to boost the number of overseas students. Demand for Higher Education in South Asia outstrips supply and their economy is booming. Planet EDU are interested in working with UVAC and UVAC members including FECs (particularly those willing to work collectively) to develop potential vocational progression routes to the second year/final year of undergraduate programmes. A potential method of this association could be for UVAC members to look at granting equivalency to the diploma programmes which are developed at Level 4 and 5 of the QCF, with 120 credits at each level and progression to year 2 or 3 of an HE programme in the UK. Subject areas in which they are interested would be Business, IT, Law, Hospitality & Tourism, Fashion Design and possibly Engineering. Planet EDU also offer international teaching diplomas. The potential benefit to UVAC members would be the possibility of increasing the intake of international students who may otherwise not be able to afford higher education in the UK (and therefore revenue from international student recruitment).
The event is being held to allow UVAC members to find out more about Planet Edu and their Chief Executive Sanjay Malaviya will be attending. To book to attend the event please email Caroline McKevitt with your name, organisation and phone number.
